Chained Beasts Chain Tactics: Move and Fight as a Team

The chain is both a constraint and a combat tool. Featherweight Games describes teams becoming tangled around pillars when uncoordinated, but tripping enemies when synchronized. Our recommended starting point is to agree on a shared direction, make short movement calls and avoid chasing separate targets without warning.

Why do simple movement calls matter?

Two individually sensible routes can conflict when players are connected. Before passing an obstacle, say which side you intend to use. If someone is recovering position or picking up equipment, give them time to respond instead of continuing to pull.

Think of a call as a shared decision rather than an order. A teammate may see a hazard or enemy you have missed. The multiplayer guide covers preparation that makes those conversations easier.

How can you use a chain offensively?

The store confirms that coordinated chains can trip enemies. Learn how this behaves in the tutorial or a low-pressure encounter before making a dangerous fight depend on it. We do not claim a universal trip threshold, damage value or boss interaction.

Our advice is to combine a chain attempt with a clear escape direction. If it does not work, the crew should know where to regroup rather than improvise in opposite directions. Review combat fundamentals for the role of space and hazards.

What changes after an affliction?

Effects that change movement, visibility or proximity can make yesterday’s formation unreliable. The launch affliction preview includes Annoying, whose description specifically involves nearby allies. Read the current effect and discuss what must change.

The afflictions guide explains why a recovery choice should be a team conversation. Do not assume a player is making random mistakes when a condition has changed the way they can act.

What should you practice as a new crew?

Try moving around one obstacle together, regrouping after a thrown weapon and calling off an attack. These are our suggested exercises, not game objectives or guaranteed optimal tactics. The aim is a repeatable response when the arena becomes chaotic.
