Chained Beasts Affliction Reference: Verified Effects
A sourced partial reference for Annoying, Impulsive, Infatuated and beta Psychosis, with version labels and a clear distinction from undisclosed affliction names.

Which named afflictions have described effects?
The October preview explains three conditions in enough detail to summarize their intended effects. A July beta post describes another. Keeping the versions beside the entries is essential: a pre-release statement is evidence of what was announced, not our measurement of the shipped build.
| Affliction | Described effect | Source context |
|---|---|---|
| Annoying | Allies may attack you when you get too close | October launch preview |
| Impulsive | Forces locking a new skill every second level and buying an item at every shop | October launch preview |
| Infatuated | Camera follows a particular ally; the preview states 10% additional damage while that ally looks at you | October launch preview; value not independently measured |
| Psychosis | Hallucinated weapons appear in the arena | July beta description; launch behavior not verified |
The announcement of more than seventy afflictions is a content total. It does not provide the names and effects of every entry, so this table should not be mistaken for a complete database or a ranking from best to worst.
How should you react to Annoying?
The source ties the effect to getting close to allies. Our recommendation is to tell the group about the condition before returning to its usual formation. Agree on how you will pass obstacles and regroup rather than assuming the same proximity remains harmless.
The announcement does not specify an exact distance, attack probability or universal avoidance technique. We therefore do not invent a safe-radius number. Use the current effect text and the chain coordination principles to test a practical adjustment.
How can Impulsive change a shopping plan?
Forced decisions can make a plan based on always waiting or saving unreliable. The preview says the condition forces periodic skill locking and a purchase at each shop. Read the actual current description before relying on those constraints in a run.
The source does not explain every boundary case, including what happens with insufficient currency or how every shop offer is handled. Those unknowns prevent a universal money-management formula. Our skills and shopping guide focuses on evaluating the choices actually available.
Why should Infatuated be discussed with a teammate?
The preview links the condition to a particular ally, camera behavior and a stated damage benefit while that ally looks at the afflicted player. That makes it a team interaction rather than a simple unconditional damage increase.
We have not verified the precise look-direction test, the behavior in solo play or the final numerical value after release. Explain the visible camera change to your partner and use the installed description instead of assuming the bonus is always active.
What about the other names in the preview?
The post also names Separation Anxiety, Bad Vibrations, Butterfingers, Narcissism, Gambling Problem and Nerve Damage as a guessing prompt. It does not disclose their effects there. A suggestive name is not enough to fill in a penalty, trigger or cure.
Psychosis likewise needs its beta label preserved. The described hallucinated weapons do not establish how to identify them, whether every apparent pickup behaves the same way or a guaranteed counter. When those details become verifiable, they can be added with the relevant version.
Where do healing and surgery fit?
For the recovery decision itself, use afflictions, healing and the Surgeon. That page explains why recovering health can have consequences and what the developer documented about between-act surgery. This reference records effects; it does not assume every condition has a guaranteed cure or a known procedure price.
