Chained Beasts Multiplayer Guide: Local and Online Co-op
Prepare a Chained Beasts party with the confirmed player count, local and online options, and a practical checklist before joining a run.

Chained Beasts is advertised for one to four players, with both online and local co-op. Four is the total party size, including you. Before starting, agree on the platform, version and session type so that a difference in setup is not mistaken for a combat or connection problem.
Which multiplayer modes are confirmed?
The Steam listing includes online co-op, shared-screen co-op and Remote Play Together. The developer’s platform announcement also identifies console releases. These facts do not prove that every combination of local players and remote guests is supported, so mixed-session limits should be checked in the current interface.
Use the local setup guide for a shared system and the cross-play overview before arranging players across different platforms.
What should a group check first?
As a preparation checklist, confirm everyone has the same intended game rather than an old Demo or beta installation. Finish any tutorial or setup steps the current game presents. Then use the session options visible in your build; this guide does not invent room-code or invite-menu steps that have not been verified.
If joining fails, note who is hosting, the platform of each player and the exact error. Try a simple two-player session before adding more variables. These are general diagnostic suggestions, not a guaranteed fix for a known launch bug.
How do you avoid pulling against each other?
Choose a direction of movement and use short calls before crossing an obstacle or chasing an enemy. A chain links decisions as well as characters: moving somewhere safe for you may move your partner somewhere unsafe.
The teamwork guide covers positioning in more detail. Learn the combat basics together so everyone understands why a partner might need room after a throw or during an interaction.
Is PvP part of the launch co-op mode?
Do not confuse co-op with an announced future PvP mode. The October roadmap describes PvP as a Q1 2027 intention. See the roadmap summary for the distinction between existing features and plans.
