Is Chained Beasts listed as Xbox Play Anywhere?

Yes. Its official Xbox product page carries the Xbox Play Anywhere badge. Microsoft’s program FAQ explains the purchase and progress benefits. Those program rules are the basis for this guide; we have not performed a live Chained Beasts save transfer between devices.

The relevant PC edition is the participating Microsoft-store edition. Owning a game on Steam is a different storefront entitlement. Check the exact product and account before assuming that a PC copy is part of an Xbox purchase.

Which purchases qualify?

Microsoft says Play Anywhere applies to eligible digital games bought through Xbox Store, Windows Store or participating retailers’ digital codes. It does not describe a disc purchase as an eligible digital entitlement. Sign in with the same Xbox Live/Microsoft account to download the eligible purchase on supported Xbox and Windows devices without an additional platform charge.

What does Microsoft say about saves and achievements?

The program FAQ says progress saved with Xbox carries between the supported Xbox and Windows PC editions, including saves, add-ons and achievements. It also describes a single shared set of Gamerscore and achievements, rather than earning two independent awards by moving between those editions.

Bought or earned content for an owned Play Anywhere game can carry across supported devices under the program. That is a general program rule, not evidence that Chained Beasts sells a particular DLC, consumable or season pass. We do not invent product offerings from the examples used in a platform FAQ.

This is the supported ecosystem boundary. It is not a Steam Cloud bridge and does not establish transfers to PS5 or Switch. See the platform and cross-play overview before treating multiplayer compatibility as shared save compatibility.

Can one account run the game simultaneously on two devices?

Microsoft’s FAQ says you cannot be signed into the same game simultaneously on multiple supported devices. Do not treat one Play Anywhere purchase as a documented method for two people to run independent online copies at the same time.

What should you verify before switching devices?

Check the badge on the exact product, use the same Microsoft account and distinguish purchased access from an active subscription. On the destination device, verify that the game offers the expected progress before making further changes.

The game’s checkpoint rules still determine what a run can restore; a platform program does not turn every moment into a new checkpoint. Read save and checkpoint restoration for that separate mechanic. If behavior differs from the program description, record both device types, editions, versions and the actual result instead of assuming that every PC storefront uses the same service.
