Chained Beasts Skills, Training and Shopping Guide
Make sense of skill choices, training trade-offs and equipment purchases between battles using the developer’s documented systems.

Skills and purchases help shape a Chained Beasts run, but the best choice depends on the problem you are facing. The launch overview announces more than seventy skills and over forty items. Those totals describe available content; they do not establish one optimal build for every party.
How should you choose a skill?
Our recommendation is to connect the effect to an action you can deliberately perform. A strong-sounding bonus may be unreliable if it depends on a situation your current setup rarely creates. Read the conditions as carefully as the benefit.
For example, developer announcements have described effects tied to executions. Before choosing around one, understand crowd and executions and confirm the current skill text rather than relying on an old duration quoted elsewhere.
What is known about training?
The September 2025 development update described interactive training above the lowest difficulty, with players contributing to a shared experience goal while risking individual injuries. It contrasted that with simpler training on Pleb difficulty.
That is historical documentation of the system’s design. It does not replace the current training interface or prove that every threshold is unchanged at launch. Read your current prompts and stop before assuming that another repetition has no cost.
How should you approach the shop?
Identify the immediate weakness in your setup before comparing offers. A replacement weapon, a defensive option or a more reliable interaction may be more useful than another benefit that duplicates something you already do well. In co-op, discuss the party’s needs as well as your own.
The equipment guide explains weapon availability and throwing. The healing guide covers a different use of resources: dealing with the drawbacks you carry into future fights.
Are there compulsory choices?
Some afflictions can constrain decisions. The October preview describes Impulsive as forcing periodic skill selection and shop purchases. That illustrates why the conditions accumulated during a run matter when planning later upgrades. A shop guide that ignores those drawbacks can recommend choices you no longer have.
