Chained Beasts PS5 Co-op: Local and Online Requirements

How many players does the PS5 listing support?

The inspected Australian PlayStation product page lists one to four players and up to four online players. Online play is optional. Keep the total party size clear: “up to four” does not mean a host plus four additional players.

Product-page label What it establishes
One to four players The listed player range for this product
Up to four online players The stated online party maximum
Optional online play Online participation is not presented as the only play mode
PS Plus required for online play A condition attached to online access
DualSense vibration The named controller feedback feature
Remote Play supported A PlayStation Remote Play feature label

These are store statements, not our test of every game menu or controller combination. The reviewed listing did not provide a platform-specific button sequence for joining local players, so follow the prompts in the current installed version.

Do you need PS Plus to play?

The product page attaches PS Plus to online play. It should not be paraphrased as a claim that the game is included in a PS Plus game catalogue. Purchase access, subscription catalogue inclusion and a subscription condition for online multiplayer are different questions.

Before arranging a remote party, check the current product page and your account’s eligibility. For broader session planning, see the multiplayer checklist. That checklist distinguishes version, devices and connection type without inventing a room-code interface.

Is PlayStation Remote Play the same as Steam Remote Play Together?

No. The PS5 product’s Remote Play label is a PlayStation platform feature. Steam Remote Play Together is Valve’s system for streaming supported local multiplayer sessions to guests. A shared word in their names does not make their device rules, invitation steps or ownership conditions interchangeable.

Our Steam Remote Play guide is explicitly for the Steam workflow. Do not apply its guest-ownership statement to the PS5 product without an appropriate PlayStation source.

Does the PS5 listing confirm every cross-play pairing?

The developer advertises online cross-play, but our reviewed evidence does not give a complete Steam/Xbox/PS5/Switch invitation matrix. The existence of a PS5 edition and a four-player online label cannot establish every cross-platform party combination.

Use the cross-play overview and check the exact combination you intend. For local play, confirm device recognition and each player’s in-game assignment before beginning a run. These are preparation suggestions, not a tested PS5-specific workaround.

Why does the Australian page show October 16?

At inspection, the page was in an announced/countdown state with a local October 16 release date. The developer’s October 15 at 17:00 UTC announcement crosses into October 16 in several time zones, including Singapore. See the release guide for that distinction.

We do not interpret the countdown as proof that all regions are already playable. Likewise, the DualSense vibration label does not establish adaptive-trigger implementation or a particular haptic effect beyond what the source names.
